False report of injury at a Kalamazoo school leads to closure

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI – Kalamazoo Township Police responded to a false report of an injury at Kalamazoo Central High School and are now looking for the person responsible.

Out of an abundance of caution, officers responded to the school at 2432 N. Drake Road on Tuesday, Sept. 10, and placed the school on a light lockdown. Working with administration and campus security, police determined there was no active threat and no students were injured, police said.

The case is currently being investigated and those responsible for the false threats will be prosecuted, police said.

Police ask anyone with information about the incident to call the Kalamazoo Township Criminal Investigation Division at 269-381-0391 or the Silent Observer at 269-343-2100.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety assisted the Kalamazoo Parish Police Department.
