Police say husband admits to stabbing wife to death in north Phoenix parking lot

A woman was killed early Monday morning in north Phoenix and her husband was sentenced to death for the stabbing.

Stephen Dennis, 35, was charged with suspicion of first-degree murder of 37-year-old Aliccia Grant, according to Phoenix police.

Around midnight Monday, officers were called to a company parking lot near Cave Creek and Thunderbird roads and found Grant suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said. Firefighters took Grant to a hospital, where she died of her injuries, police said.

The investigation revealed that Dennis called 911 and allegedly admitted to stabbing Grant and told dispatchers his location, police said. Dennis was arrested by officers and a knife believed to have been used by Dennis was found by police near the stabbing, police said.

The investigation is still ongoing, police added.
