BJP's Anurag Thakur criticises Rahul Gandhi for his comments in the US

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]September 10 (ANI): BJP MP Anurag Thakur on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks in the US, saying the British have gone but left their mindset to the Congress MPs and their strategy is to go abroad and tarnish the country's image.

He also stressed that the LoP's remarks would have no effect as the people of the country reject the Congress.

Thakur said, “The British have gone but left their mindset to the Congressmen. They want to divide the nation on the basis of caste, religion or region. Their strategy is to go abroad and damage the image of the country. Whenever Rahul Gandhi went abroad, he always damaged the image of the country. Rahul Gandhi ji, that would not do any good. Taking money from China and opinions from Pakistan would not do any good. The people of this nation will cast their vote and they have rejected the Congress.” This came amid a row triggered by Rahul Gandhi's remarks in the United States, where he said that the fight in India today is whether a Sikh can wear his turban and kada and visit gurdwara.

“First of all, you have to understand what this fight is about. It is not about politics. It is superficial. What is your name? It is about whether as a Sikh he will be allowed to wear a turban in India. Or whether as a Sikh he will be allowed to wear a kada in India. Or whether a Sikh will be allowed to go to the Gurdwara. That is what this fight is about, and not just about that, but about all religions,” Rahul Gandhi had said.

Furthermore, he continued his tirade against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming that people's “fear of Prime Minister Narendra Modi” had disappeared after the announcement of the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Rahul Gandhi, who is on a visit to the US, arrived in Dallas on Sunday. He interacted with students and faculty of the University of Texas and also spoke to members of the Indian diaspora in Dallas and Virginia. (ANI)
