Attacks on Moscow: Woman (46) dies after drone attack in burning apartment building

Drones have been shot down on Russian territory for months. The region around the capital Moscow has already been the target of alleged Ukrainian attacks several times. Further air strikes are said to have taken place on the night of Tuesday, September 10. One person was apparently killed in the attack.

More than a dozen drones are believed to have intercepted Russian air defense forces heading towards Moscow during the night. This was announced by the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin, and the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov. In Ramenskoye, a 46-year-old woman was killed when the eleventh and twelfth floors of a residential building caught fire after a drone attack, it was reported. According to “Nexta”, this is the first death as a result of a drone attack in the Moscow region. The media project also published videos on X (formerly Twitter) showing an explosion and the burning building. According to official information, there were also three injured.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported this morning that at least 144 drone attacks had been repelled in various parts of the country.

Vorobyov alone spoke of 14 drone attacks in various parts of the Moscow region. Dozens of people had to be evacuated. There were delays and cancellations at Moscow airports. Take-offs and landings were not permitted for hours. The airports affected were Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky, the Russian air traffic authority Rosaviatsia in Moscow said.

Drone attacks were also reported in other parts of the country, several dozen in total. In the border region of Bryansk, 59 drones were shot down, said Governor Alexander Bogomas. Later, 72 attacks were repelled. There was no damage or injuries.
