Bhagalpur (Bihar), Sept 10 (PTI) – A BJP politician was seriously injured after unidentified assailants attacked him with a blunt object in Bhagalpur district, hours after another local party politician was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Patna, police said.

The injured BJP worker was identified as Shashi Modi, the husband of a local district councillor.

Security personnel deployed on site took the injured to a nearby hospital; their condition is stable, it was said.

The police have filed a complaint and launched a manhunt for the accused, the statement said.

Locals said Shashi Modi is a senior BJP politician and is actively involved in the party activities in the area.

The incident occurred just hours after local BJP politician Shyamshundar Sharma was shot dead by three unidentified assailants outside a restaurant in the Chowk area of ​​Patna city on Monday.
