Taliaferro County Sheriff's Deputy Arrested for Burglary and Aggravated Assault

GREENE COUNTY, Georgia.A Taliaferro County Sheriff's deputy was charged with, among other things, burglary.

Joshua Wilson, 29, of Winterville, was also charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, simple assault (domestic violence), obstructing a person from making an emergency call and criminal damage to property.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Greene County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic dispute in the 1000 block of McInteer Circle in Greensboro around 5 a.m. on September 5.

According to investigators, Wilson, who was off duty at the time, entered a house and got into a physical altercation with several people.

Wilson later turned himself in to authorities at the Greene County Sheriff's Office.

Due to the nature of the case and the fact that Wilson was a sworn law enforcement officer, the GBI was asked to conduct the investigation, which ultimately ended with his arrest.
