The British television series “The Grand Tour” has been broadcast on Amazon Prime since 2016 and has since won countless fans. For “The Grand Tour”, former “Top Gear” presenters Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson travelled around the world to experience exciting adventures in various places. Of course, spectacular vehicles such as the Ferrari also play a role.488 or the Aston Martin DB11 play an important role.

For fans of the series, Friday, September 13th will be a dark day. That's when Hammond, May and Clarkson will be joining Amazon Prime for the last time for the “Grand Tour.” But in an interview with metro.co.uk, Hammond also has some good news to share.

“The Grand Tour” continues

With the rise of the congenial trio around Richard Hammond, an era may have ended, but not the show. “The Grand Tour continues,” says Hammond, adding: “We are retiring as presenters, but she will be prime.” [die Show] continue. I also can't wait to sit in my own chair and watch someone else do it. It's fantastic.”

Unfortunately, Hammond is unable to answer who the new presenter team will be. He says he was not involved in the discussions. Nevertheless, the veteran star has an important tip for his successors: “If you are doing a show that has a core theme, be it cooking, dancing or cars, then the presenters, the main people responsible, have to have this passion in their hearts.” That has always been the case with him and his colleagues.

No information yet about the new season

As an example of how the passion of presenters can be transmitted to the audience, Hammond brings up a show about pottery. “I've seen this show where they make pots, The Great Pottery Down, and I love it,” he said. While he himself has no interest in pottery, the presenters of the show certainly do. “That passion is captivating,” explained Hammond.

Amazon has not yet announced when the next season will start. But anyone who wants to say goodbye to the previous stars of “The Grand Tour” can do so on September 13th. An Amazon Prime membership is of course required.
