Two boys found dead

SPRINGWOOD, Blue Mountains – A great tragedy occurs in the village of Faulconbridge in the Blue Mountains, 77 kilometers west of Sydney.

A crime scene was investigated in the village of 4,000 residents after the bodies of two young boys were discovered in a house on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to a house on Chapman Parade in Faulconbridge at around 12.40pm on Tuesday following concerns for the welfare of a woman and two children.

When officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command arrived at the scene, they found the bodies of two boys, aged nine and eleven, inside the house.

A 42-year-old woman who was in the apartment was taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard. Authorities confirmed she was in a stable condition.

Police have assured the public that there is no further threat to the community and that no one is being sought in connection with the incident.

Detectives from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad are assisting Blue Mountains Police in investigating the circumstances of the tragic deaths.
