A toddler was found wandering on a busy street in northeast Charlotte in the middle of the night. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are asking the public for help in locating family members.

The boy was found on Monday, Sept. 9, and is believed to be 2 or 3 years old, CMPD said.

“The unaccompanied child was found by a citizen around 1 a.m. … near the 7900 block of Mallard Creek at the intersection with Baucom Road,” CMPD said in a news release.

“The child was found walking along Mallard Creek Road wearing short-sleeved pajamas with green leaves and an orange tiger pattern on them.”

Maps show that the intersection is near the Keith Family YMCA and is surrounded by a mix of offices and residential developments.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911, police said.
