Due to heavy rain: Accident on the A1 near Barsbüttel

Accident on the A1 near Barsbüttel: Two cars collided on the slippery road late Sunday evening in heavy rain. Both drivers were injured.

The two vehicles collided at around 11.30 p.m. on the A1 towards Hamburg, just before the Barsbüttel junction, and were thrown into the guardrail. Both were so badly damaged that they were no longer drivable.

Rescue workers attended to the drivers of the black Mercedes and the white VW Polo, who were both injured in the collision. The police closed the road to contain the accident. Shortly afterwards, the left lane was reopened. (mp)
