Washington man arrested in New York for stabbing Missouri teenager to death

QUEENS, NY (KY3) – A Washington man wanted in connection with the stabbing attack of an 18-year-old at a bus stop near Joplin was arrested in Queens, New York last week.

According to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old David Bostic was arrested by U.S. Marshals on September 5. He is expected to be extradited to Missouri soon.

Bostic is charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

On January 11 of this year, Jasper County officials responded to an attack at a bus stop in Duenweg. The teenager from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, was stabbed in the neck.

Authorities believe the stab wound was life-threatening. It was also discovered that the carotid artery had been severed. The teenager was released from the hospital six days later.

In July, Jasper County investigators identified the suspect as Bostic. They learned he has a violent past and ties to Missouri, Utah, Washington, Arkansas and New York.

According to court documents, the teen told investigators he did not know Bostic and was waiting for the next bus out of town. While Bostic was in his car, an altercation broke out between Bostic and the teen. Bostic then got out, stabbed the teen and left the scene.
