Man charged with stabbing woman in Clonshaugh, Dublin home – The Irish Times

Gardaí have charged a man in connection with an attack on a woman in her north Dublin home at the weekend, during which she was stabbed in the neck. The woman remained in hospital emergency care on Sunday evening. Garda sources said the victim's injuries were very serious and she was lucky to survive the attack.

In the early hours of Saturday morning, Garda members and paramedics began an emergency response following reports of an attack at a private residence in Clonshaugh (Dublin 17), where the victim lived.

The woman, who is in her 30s, was found seriously injured at the scene and was treated by paramedics before being taken to nearby Beaumont Hospital for further treatment. The property was cordoned off by police as a crime scene and several local residents, including those who raised the alarm, were interviewed as witnesses.

Following the attack at around 12.25am on Saturday, Garda arrested a suspect, a man in his 40s.

During a subsequent manhunt, the arrested man was detained.

The property where the attack took place remained cordoned off over the weekend and was examined by Garda Technical Bureau personnel. Gardaí hope the victim makes a full recovery.
