Man (20s) dies, woman (50s) and child seriously injured in accident in Roscommon – News

A man in his twenties has died while a woman and a child were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in County Roscommon on Tuesday evening.

The collision occurred at around 8.20pm on the R280 near Arigna, Co Roscommon.

A male driver (20s) was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

A woman in her 50s and a boy were taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment of injuries, which were believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

The accident scene is currently being technically examined by forensic accident investigators. The road remains closed, but there are local diversions in place.

The Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dashboard cameras) and who were travelling in the area between 8pm and 8.30pm at the time of the incident are asked to please provide this footage to investigating Gardaí.
