Broncos vs. Seahawks NFL Week 1 Final Score Prediction (Can Denver Score in Bo Ni?)

Broncos vs. Seahawks NFL Week 1 Final Score Prediction (Can Denver Score in Bo Ni?)

The Denver Broncos will usher in a new era on Sunday – especially with a new quarterback – when Bo Nix takes on the Seattle Seahawks.

Nix is the Broncos' first rookie quarterback to start the season opener since the legendary John Elway in 1983, setting expectations pretty high for the first-round pick.

Denver is a big underdog on the road against Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks, who have a new head coach in Mike Macdonald. After missing the playoffs in 2023, Seattle will be hoping to get off to a strong start in a winnable Week 1 matchup.

We have tips for this game at SI Betting, but I will try to predict the final result using the latest odds and hope this can help bettors make their minds up about this game at 4:05 pm EST.

Bookmakers expect a relatively low-scoring game in Seattle on Sunday, although both teams have had defensive issues in 2023.

Seattle is the clear favorite against Nix, who is making his first NFL appearance, but the Broncos may not be as bad as those odds suggest after Nix showed some potential in the preseason. That's how I see this afternoon game in Week 1.

Seattle hasn’t made many moves this offseason to improve on last year’s roster, and SI Betting’s NFL betting insider Iain MacMillan is a Creditors to the Broncos and Nix.

I think it's time for me to officially declare myself a Bo Nix supporter. I haven't spoken out about it in a long time, but I have to make my opinion known before the season starts. I liked him before the draft and after what I saw in the preseason, I like him even more. Now that the regular season is starting, I think the Broncos will be better this season than people think.

I previewed this game earlier this week and gave a few reasons why I like the OVER, which I think will be that low total of 42.

These two defenses struggled in the 2023 season, allowing the sixth-most (Denver) and eighth-most (Seattle) points in the league.

I don't expect much to change on Denver's side, especially after losing arguably their best defensive player, Justin Simmons.

While it may be different in Seattle, the Broncos' offense was humming under Nix in the preseason, scoring six different goals in two games. Nix adds some firepower to an offense that struggled to get going under Russell Wilson in 2023.

Denver has far exceeded that number in several preseason games, and I agree with MacMillan that the Broncos can compete in this matchup.

A field goal will decide the competition on Sunday.

Final score prediction: Seahawks 26, Broncos 23
