Minor girl ‘locked up and sexually harassed’ by Instagram boyfriend – rescued by Hyderabad police

A minor girl from Bhainsa, who was “locked” and “sexually abused” by her Instagram boyfriend for twenty days in a hotel in Narayanguda, was rescued by the She Teams of Hyderabad City Police on Sunday.

She Teams Hyderabad received a complaint from the parents of a student from Bhainsa, Nizamabad, stating that her daughter had called them and said that she had been lured into a trap by a friend she met through Instagram. “She said the boy threatened and forced her to come to Hyderabad and was locked in a hotel room for 20 days. After sharing her current location through WhatsApp, the distraught parents rushed to Hyderabad and approached She Teams for immediate help,” police said.

The She Teams tracked down and found the girl in a locked hotel room in Narayanguda. A criminal case was filed against the perpetrator with the Narayanguda police.

In another case, She Teams on Sunday received a complaint through WhatsApp from a student of a culinary school in Hyderabad, who alleged that she was being constantly harassed by some of her classmates. “She said that a group of children in the school had been teasing her for a long period of time and making inappropriate gestures and vulgar comments, which had caused her mental distress. On receiving the complaint, She Teams conducted investigations and after a thorough investigation, a criminal case was registered against the culprits with Panjagutta police,” police said.

In addition to taking legal action against the perpetrators, the She Teams have also issued a stern warning to the university administration and called for preventive measures to ensure the safety of their students.
