Horrific attack in Bavaria: Man is said to have seriously injured his partner

– A man from Bavaria is said to have seriously injured his partner. The public prosecutor's office is now investigating on suspicion of attempted murder.

These are serious allegations. As the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters announced in a press release on Friday (September 6, 2024), a 38-year-old man from Bruckmühl (in the Rosenheim district) is suspected of having seriously injured his 37-year-old partner during an argument.

As the officers further state in the letter, the incident took place on the night of Friday (September 6, 2024) at around 1 a.m. The operations center of the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters received a tip that a “seriously injured person” in Bruckmühl had just called the emergency number.

When the emergency services arrived at the location shortly afterwards, it turned out that a 37-year-old woman had been seriously injured by her 38-year-old partner. The woman was able to call the emergency services herself.

The suspect fled after the crime, so an extensive manhunt was launched, which also involved a police helicopter. Around an hour later, the 38-year-old was found and arrested without resistance.

The 37-year-old woman from Bruckmühl suffered “potentially life-threatening” injuries in the attack. As the police announced, her current condition is “no longer critical”.

That same night, the Rosenheim Criminal Investigation Department's permanent crime squad began further investigations at the crime scene. The responsible department 1 of the Rosenheim Criminal Investigation Department is now also involved in the matter under the technical direction of the Traunstein Public Prosecutor's Office.

In addition, the public prosecutor's office had “applied for an arrest warrant against the 38-year-old suspect on the basis of the facts of the case.” The responsible investigating judge subsequently issued an arrest warrant against the man on Saturday (September 7, 2024). The suspect nun was later found in a correctional facility.

The investigation is now intended to clarify how and why exactly the argument and the serious attack by the man against his life partner came about.
