Postponement of UCF football game: Knights vs. Sam Houston postponed due to lightning strike near stadium

ORLANDO – Kickoff for UCF’s nonconference home game against Sam Houston was postponed Saturday due to inclement weather near FBC Mortgage Stadium.

According to the school's Fan Experience account on X, UCF is waiting for a 30-minute window of no lightning strikes within 8 miles of the stadium to start the pregame clock and open the stadium bowl.

The weather-related delay began around 4:45 p.m. Kick-off was originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

After the 30-minute window has expired, a new kick-off time will be set.
