Accident in Hathras: Two more dead in Hathras, treatment of the injured is underway

A devastating accident occurred in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, in which a Roadways bus and a Max truck collided. At least 15 people died and over 10 others were injured. The death toll is expected to rise. According to reports, the Max truck, which was carrying passengers returning from a festival following a funeral, was hit by the Roadways bus. The incident took place in Mitaei village area on Agra-Aligarh bypass under the jurisdiction of Chandpa police station. The Max truck was returning to Sevla village near Khandoli after attending a Thirteenth Day festival in Mukund Khera, Sasni. Among the injured, over a dozen people are said to be in serious condition. District Magistrate Ashish Kumar stated that the collision between a Roadways bus and a Tata Magic vehicle occurred on NH-93 near Mitaei village. Tragically, 12 people, including four children, lost their lives in the accident and 16 others were injured. Four of the injured are in critical condition and have been referred to Aligarh for further treatment while the rest are being cared for at the district hospital. After the incident, DM Ashish Kumar and SP along with other administrative officials visited the district hospital to assess the condition of the injured. The accident was caused due to overtaking and the police are currently busy with legal proceedings in the case.
