Raj pilgrims killed: 4 Raj pilgrims killed, 6 injured in MP accident | Bhopal News

Bhopal: Four persons, including two women, were killed and six injured when their car collided with a truck in MPs Vidisha District early Saturday morning.
The victims, residents of Jhalawar in Rajasthan, had travelled nearly 500 km to a pilgrimage to Bageshwar Dham in Chhatarpur district of MP. They were on their way back when their car crashed into the rear of a truck leaving a petrol station in Lateri, 100 km north of Bhopal, at around 3 am.
Video footage from the gas station shows the truck slowly turning onto the highway as the car approaches and hits the back of it. The impact was so violent that the car was demolished, making rescue operations difficult. Police and emergency services struggled to free the victims from the wreckage.
According to police, the accident was not reported to emergency services until 4:10 a.m., more than an hour later. The car had 10 passengers and was heavily loaded with luggage, suggesting that the passengers were on an extended religious journey.
The group had visited various holy sites, including Vaishno Devi and Bageshwar Dham, over the past 12 days. Suresh Solanki, in-charge of Lateri police station, said there were seven women and three men in the car.
The dead were Kishan Lal (60), a resident of Laxmipura in Iklera, Vardibai (70) from Bakani, Rajubai Bhil (48) and Vinod Kumar Mali (25), the driver.
The injured are Bakani residents Dinesh Kumar Lodha, 29, Daryab Bai, 65, Jhalawar; Ganniram, 55, and Iklera residents Pani Bai, 55, Kamalabai, 59, and Anita Bai, 34. They are in critical condition at Lateri Hospital. The truck, registered in MP's Basoda, has been seized for investigation.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed his grief over the tragedy and conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims.
