Badlapur child sexual abuse case: SIT finds CCTV footage of accused entering and leaving school on the day of crime | Thane News

THANE: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the Case of sexual assault by two kindergarten students in Badlapur has found important evidence in connection with the case. The SIT has found CCTV footage the main gate of the school, with the accused Entering and leaving the school on August 12 and 13. This footage confirms the defendant's presence at the school on the day of the crime.
One can remember that the Video surveillance Footage of the nursery section of the school where the crime involving the girls took place was blocked for 15 days before the incident. This raised questions about the school administration. However, the SIT team found that the CCTV cameras in the rest of the school, especially the main gate. The SIT team examined as evidence the CCTV footage showing the accused entering and leaving the school premises on the two main days of the incident.
On the other hand, the SIT filed a separate First Information Report (FIR) on the incident involving the first victim on August 25, a day before the accused was sent to jail. In the FIR, the victim stated that the accused sexually abused her while carrying a stick in the toilet. The victim also mentioned that she informed her parents about the incident, who later approached the school on August 13 to report the incident. However, the school did not take any action nor did it inform the local police.
SIT sources said that the local police, which filed the first FIR based on the parents of the second victim, who approached the police directly, mentioned the sexual abuse of the first victim. To have a watertight case in this matter, we have filed a separate FIR regarding the first victim. Meanwhile, the SIT team on Wednesday recorded the statements of some other school teachers from the nursery section in the case.
MNS chief Raj Thackeray meets protesters and parents from Badlapur
MNS chief Raj Thackeray visited Badlapur on Wednesday where he met parents of the school as well as protesters from Badlapur town who participated in the violent protests at the school and the Rail Roko at Badlapur railway station to protest against the Badlapur sexual assault case. During the visit, Raj Thackeray collected information from the parents about the entire incident.
Meanwhile, protesters complained that the railway police were visiting the houses of protesters at midnight to take action against them and harassing those who were not involved in the protests. Raj Thackeray then spoke to Railway Police Commissioner Ravindra Shishve over the phone and directed him to ensure that such incidents do not occur again.
