Linkin Park: “The Emptiness Machine” with singer Emily Armstrong

“The Emptiness Machine” is the first new LINKIN PARK music since the death of singer Chester Bennington seven years ago. In addition to the new singer Emily Armstrong (Dead Sara), drummer Colin Brittain also joins the team around the long-standing members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell and Joe Hahn. You can watch a performance of the new line-up at this link until 11:59 p.m.

On November 15th, LINKIN PARK will also release their new studio album “From Zero”, which you can order here. The US band has also announced their “From Zero World Tour”, which will also take them to Hamburg. Tickets are already available for members of the “LP Underground” fan club. Everyone else can buy tickets here from tomorrow, September 7th.

The new era

Shinoda, Delson, Farrell and Hahn began meeting again in recent years. Without much fuss and without a fixed agenda. They weren't interested in restarting the band. They shared a common desire to spend more time together and rekindle the creativity and camaraderie that had been at the core of their friendship since their college years. When they met, they often invited different friends and companions to join them in the studio. A special connection developed with Armstrong and Brittain. They felt a natural chemistry between them that developed into a special magic the more hours they spent together in the studio. It was the sound of musicians who had been making music for as long as they could remember – and now rediscovered the irrepressible energy of a new beginning. That was the birth of “From Zero”.

Mike Shinoda comments

Shinoda on the new era: “Before we became LINKIN PARK, our first band name was Xero. The album title refers both to that time when we took our first steps as nobodies and to the journey we are now embarking on. Sonically and emotionally, it's about the past, present and future – we stay true to our signature sound, but everything is new and full of life. And it is driven by a deeper appreciation for our new and long-time bandmates, our friends, our family and our fans. We are proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years and look forward to the journey that lies ahead.”

With the first single, “The Emptiness Machine,” you can see what Mike Shinoda is talking about: “The longer we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their extraordinary talents, their company, and the things we created together.” With this new lineup and music that is so full of life and energy, we really feel a whole new power. We are weaving together the sonic trademarks that we are breaking new ground for.
