Teenager stabbed outside school in Edmonton

Charges are still pending after a teenager was stabbed to death outside a school in south Edmonton on Thursday.

At 5:30 p.m., police were called to the area between 15th Avenue and Mill Woods Road because a juvenile had been stabbed, but by the time officers arrived, the victim had already left the area.

The teenager was found nearby with a group of friends and taken to hospital by emergency services with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, the teenager was stabbed during a confrontation with several other teenagers in which bear spray was used in front of a school in the area around the corner of 17th Avenue and Mill Woods Road.

No further injuries were reported.

The victim's age and gender were not disclosed.
