Four dead and three injured in bicycle accident in Vijayapura district

Four youths were killed in a road accident in Kuntoji village in Vijayapura district on Thursday evening.

Ningaraj Choudhari, 22, was riding his bike recklessly and negligently and rammed into a group of youths who were travelling on the road, police said. Three of the victims – Anil Kainoor, 22, Kumar Pyati, 18, and Rayappa Bagewadi, 24 – died on the spot. The cyclist also bled to death.

Shahed Hungund, Prashant and Hanumant sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital. The driver was not in control of the 200cc heavy-duty motorcycle, police said. They are investigating whether he was under the influence of alcohol. A case has been registered.
