Maharashtra's LoP Vijay Wadettiwar attacks BJP on law and order situation

Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India]September 6 (ANI): Reacting to a shooting incident at Badlapur railway station in which a man opened fire on two other men, LoP MP Vijay Wadettiwar questioned the public order in the state and accused Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis of playing politics.

Speaking to ANI, Wadettiwar said, “In the last six months, 242 cases of street crime have been reported in Maharashtra, in which people have been stabbed, strangled, crushed under vehicles and shot at. So, public order in Maharashtra has completely deteriorated. What is the Maharashtra Home Minister doing? He should not be so busy with politics… Incidents like this have never happened in Maharashtra before…” Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey slammed the Mahayuti government over public order in the state, alleging that the government is busy with politics and has no time for the welfare of the people.

“Yesterday there was a shooting incident in Badlapur after which the whole of Badlapur took to the streets and protested,” said Anand Dubey, leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT).

Criticising Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis, he said, “Law and order has completely broken down in Maharashtra. Where is Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis?” “The government is busy playing politics, contesting elections, forming governments and breaking parties,” the Shiv Sena leader said. He said our railway stations are not safe, our bus stands are not safe and crimes are taking place regularly.

“Will you also look into law and order? Did you form the government in Maharashtra for the welfare of the people or to create trouble for the people?” he added.

On Thursday around 6 pm, a shooting incident occurred at Badlapur railway station, creating a tense atmosphere when a young man opened fire at two persons, injuring one of them.

The shooter has been arrested. According to preliminary information, the incident was the result of a dispute over financial matters. (ANI)
