Google Maps crashed on Android

Currently, a report by “Android Police” from various users on Reddit and X is complaining that there is currently a problem with the Google Maps map app. As soon as the app is started on Android devices, it crashes as soon as it is opened. For other users, it opens normally, only to crash unexpectedly. This means that the app cannot be used for searching for locations or for navigation, which is why various users have already switched to competing apps such as Waze.

According to the report, Google Maps has stopped working on both stable Android versions and the available beta versions. In addition, the problem does not appear to be present everywhere, and quite a few users can still use the app without any problems. It turns out that the crashes mainly occur with versions 11.144.x and 11.145.x. According to “Android Police”, the problem can be solved by uninstalling the latest updates, which can be done via the settings. (rd)
