Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu escaped a possible train accident while inspecting flood-hit Madhuranagar in Vijayawada on Thursday.

The incident occurred when Naidu and his team were walking near a railway track to observe a flooded stream below. Suddenly, a train approached from the opposite direction, forcing Naidu, his officials and security personnel to quickly take evasive action. After the train passed, the team continued its inspection without any further incident.

Wading through the waters, driving boats and bulldozers, the Andhra Pradesh chief minister is making every effort to help flood-hit people in the state, including monitoring a swollen stream from a railway bridge as a train rushed past.

Following the unprecedented torrential rains and floods in Vijayawada, Naidu made several visits to the affected areas to personally monitor the relief work. The Chief Minister on Thursday viewed the flood situation first-hand from a small railway bridge in Vijayawada, which was over a raging stream-like watercourse. He was accompanied by several officials and NSG commandos.

Meanwhile, a train sped past and 74-year-old Naidu, who was standing on the railings of a bridge on a narrow platform very close to the moving train, remained unperturbed. The passengers of the passing train cheered the CM for his work in the fields.
