The name of the teenager accused of stabbing 15-year-old schoolgirl Elianne Andam to death at a bus stop in south London has been revealed.

Hassan Sentamu was charged with murdering Elianne on Wellesley Road on September 27 last year.

Since he was 17 years old at the time of his arrest, his name could not be mentioned.

Elianne had met two friends before she was stabbed at the bus stop.

Sentamu is said to have pulled a large knife from his waistband before repeatedly attacking Elianne.

He was arrested in New Addington at 9.45am the same day and pleaded guilty to manslaughter last year but denied murder.

Elianne's aunt Marian said she dreamed of becoming a lawyer and was also an enthusiastic gymnast.

Following her death, Elianne's family released a statement: “We as a family are struggling to comprehend this painful tragedy that has befallen our beautiful daughter and beloved sister Elianne. Our hearts are broken.”
