Wolcott police arrest suspect, victim stabbed in head

WOLCOTT, Connecticut (WFSB) – Wolcott police have arrested a suspect in the stabbing of a person in the head Thursday night.

The stabbing occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Saddle Road.

According to police, an argument between two people, including 30-year-old Austin Baker of Southington, broke out via text message earlier in the day.

Baker then came to the house on Saddle Road with a knife.

The two began arguing before Baker pulled out the knife and hit the victim on the back of the head.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found that the victim had a small cut on the back of his head.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Baker fled the scene on foot, but was quickly tracked down and arrested by a Wolcott officer on Deer Run Lane.

He was accused of assault, reckless endangerment, trespassing and disturbing the public peace.

He is currently being held at the Wolcott Police Department on $100,000.00 bail.
