Michael Kay blasts listener who accused him of 'gaslighting' Yankees fans

Michael Kay has no understanding for anyone who accuses him of manipulating New York Yankees fans.

Kay found a comment by X-user (formerly Twitter) Jrock184 and read it in Thursday’s episode of The Michael Kay Show. The user advocated for the Yankees to fire manager Aaron Boone, general manager Brian Cashman and “everyone at @YESNetwork who tricked fans into believing all this bullshit. @RealMichaelKay is #1 at manipulating Yankees fans.”

Kay didn't find this funny at all and went on an absolutely epic rant. He took off his glasses, stared into the camera and said the following:

“Jrock, come and get me. Let me fire. Let me fire. Me, the great gaslighter. Let me fire. Are you such a simpleton that you let yourself be manipulated? I don't manipulate anyone, I speak the truth. Nobody tells me what to say. You think the Yankees like that I'm just tearing down Alex Verdugo? Go away, little boy, you're annoying.”

After mockingly saying, “They manipulate the fans,” he continued.

“No, because you have something on your mind and we're telling our truths and you don't like it. Worry about gaslighting in politics, don't worry about gaslighting at the YES Network. We don't gaslight, we tell the truth. Nobody tells us what to say. Gaslighting. What an idiot. Stupid little boy. Stupid little boy.”

I'm sorry, but “stupid little boy” was a step too far for me. What a paragraph. That's an A+ rant from Kay.

Yankees fans are a little agitated since their team has lost six of their last eight games, and I'm pretty sure taking out the anger on the commentators isn't the right way to deal with it.

Kay absolutely tore the commentator apart, as he should have done.
