Commanders fire VP of Content after derogatory comments about players and fans caught on camera

The Washington Commanders have fired vice president of content Rael Enteen after a hidden camera video showed him making derogatory comments about players, fans and other NFL personalities. The Commanders confirmed his firing to The Athletic on Thursday morning.

Enteen was with the Commanders for four years. He was filmed by an undercover member of the O'Keefe Media Group who met him through an unknown dating app. The group is known for releasing secretly recorded videos, and founder James O'Keefe has been found guilty in the past of using deceptive tactics and editing to obtain and release his videos.

In the video, which was reportedly shot over two days and then edited down to 11 minutes, Enteen can be heard calling players “stupid” and “homophobic,” calling fans “mouth breathers” and “alcoholics” with high school degrees, and accusing Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones of being homophobic and racist.

The Commanders have not released a statement on Enteen's firing, but they did issue one on Wednesday when they suspended him.

“The language used in the video is contrary to our values at the Commanders organization,” the team said via ESPN. “We have suspended the employee pending an investigation and will refrain from further comment at this time.”
