Woman opened fire on crowd in Myrtle Beach bar after physical altercation with security guards

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A police report obtained by WMBF News details the moments before a woman allegedly opened fire at a Myrtle Beach bar over Labor Day weekend.

According to records, 34-year-old Rhonda Leake of Myrtle Beach was arrested Saturday and charged with four counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

According to a police report obtained by WMBF News Thursday, officers were called to the 400 block of Yaupon Drive on Aug. 31. The arrest warrants for Leake specifically list the address as 407 Yaupon Drive, which matches The Flock Bar and Grill when searched online.

The report states that a Myrtle Beach Police Department officer was patrolling the area when he noticed “an active disturbance” inside the bar. The officer noticed several people running from the scene and three people were later arrested.

One of the victims told police that an argument turned physical when one of the arrested was denied entry to the bar because he was a minor. Arrest warrants indicate that Leake allegedly got into an altercation with security at the bar.

After the physical altercation, police say Leake was dragged away from one of the victims by two other victims. Leake then allegedly pulled out a Glock 32 and fired several shots at four of the victims.

The police report states that no one was hit, but six shell casings were found at the scene. All of the victims told police that Leake shot them.

Officers also spoke with a witness who said he saw the altercation and shooting. Another witness said he walked out of the bar when he heard gunshots and saw one of the victims on the ground trying to take the gun from Leake.

Police were subsequently shown a video of the incident in which Leake can reportedly be seen firing multiple shots into the crowd.

Leake was subsequently arrested and taken to the Myrtle Beach Jail and then to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. She was released on Sunday on $85,000 bail.

According to the police report, further arrests were made for disturbing the peace in public.
