Saskatoon man charged after belt attack on city bus

A 29-year-old Saskatoon man is facing assault charges after allegedly attacking passengers on a city bus with a belt.

According to Saskatoon police, officers responded to a report of a disturbance on a public bus around noon on Wednesday.

Witnesses reported that the man hit other passengers with a leather belt.

The bus was stopped and police were able to locate the suspect at an address in the 400 block of Ottawa Avenue, where he was later arrested.

Two male victims suffered minor injuries in the attack.

The 29-year-old is accused of two counts of assault.
