Barron Trump's college plans revealed: Prestigious NYC business school

NEW YORK, NY — Young Barron Trump will attend one of New York’s most prestigious universities: New York University.

According to the Daily Mail, his father, former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump, confirmed that 18-year-old Barron will attend the NYU Stern School of Business.

“Stern is one of America’s best business schools and has a highly selective undergraduate program – only about one in 20 applicants is successful,” wrote the Daily Mail.

Barron's choice of college deviates from his family's history of attending the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His father, sisters Ivanka and Tiffany, and brother Donald Jr. all graduated from the school and have since made financial contributions to it.

In a comment to the Daily Mail, Trump said of his son's choice: “It's a very high-quality place. He liked it. He liked the school. We liked NYU. I've known NYU for a long time, but it's one of the highest rated… I went to Wharton, and that was definitely a school we considered. We didn't do that. We chose Stern.”

“He's a very gifted kid, but he's not a kid anymore. He's just gone beyond being a kid. He's doing great,” Trump said.

In addition, Barron is expected to “continue playing football” while studying at NYU. The Daily Mail reported: “He [Barron] is known as a sports fanatic and played for one of DC United's youth teams.”

Social media has been abuzz since news of Barron's decision was announced yesterday afternoon. His college choice was previously kept top secret after he graduated from high school earlier this year.
