One dead and one injured in shooting in the Netherlands

The Hague, September 5 (IANS): One person was killed and another injured in a shooting in Vlissingen, a city in the southwestern Dutch province of Zeeland, on Thursday afternoon, police said.

“We are currently investigating a shooting incident on the Visodeweg in Vlissingen,” Zeeland police said on the social platform X.

The victims were discovered on a street in Vlissingen at around 1:00 p.m. local time (11:00 GMT), Xinhua news agency reported, according to local media.

The police have not yet provided any further information about the motive or the perpetrator. The area has been cordoned off with barrier tape.
