Man arrested for fatal stabbing in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, CT (WFSB) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in New Haven in July.

New Haven police announced Wednesday that they had arrested 36-year-old Thomas Norfleet in the death of 26-year-old Shamar Gibson.

The stabbing occurred on July 6.

According to police, Gibson went to St. Raphael's Hospital after the incident, but succumbed to his injuries there.

Police said they would release new details about the murder at a press conference on Thursday.

They said Gibson's family would be there.

The start was planned for 11 a.m.
