25th award ceremony: German Television Award: Nomination for “Kaulitz & Kaulitz”

The nominations for the 25th German Television Awards have been announced. An honor for Bill and Tom Kaulitz, as their reality series was named “Kaulitz & Kaulitz.” Joko Winterscheidt could take home several trophies.

On Thursday, September 5th, the nominations for the German Television Award were announced. Bill and Tom Kaulitz (35) have the opportunity to be awarded for their Netflix series “Kaulitz & Kaulitz”. They are named in the “Best Entertainment Reality” category. “Alone – Survive the Wilderness” (RTL+) and “The Traitors – Trust No One!” (RTL) are also in the same category. In 2023, the Kaulitz twins won a German Television Award in the “Best Entertainment Show” category for “That's My Jam with Bill & Tom Kaulitz”. Joko Winterscheidt (45) even has two chances of winning the television award.

“Let's Dance” or “Let yourself be monitored!” by Jan Böhmermann

His quiz show “Who suits me the show?” (ProSieben) has been nominated in the “Best Entertainment Show” category, alongside Jan Böhmermann’s (43) “Lass dich angebracht!” (ZDF) and “Let’s Dance” (RTL). The latter can look forward to three nominations each. Winterscheidt could also be awarded a prize together with Klaas Heufer-Umlauf (40); they are nominated in the “Best Moderation/Individual Entertainment Performance” category for “24 Hours with Joko & Klaas” (ProSieben). Laura Wontorra (35) could also be honored for “Drei gegen Einen” (RTL) and “Grill den Henssler” (VOX), or Sonja Zietlow (56) for “Die Verräter – Vertrauene Niemand!” (The Traitors – Trust Nobody!).

The candidates for “Best Factual Entertainment” are: “Literally Live!” (ZDF), “Mälzer and Henssler Deliver!” (VOX) and “Star Kitchen” with Tim Raue (Prime Video). “Bosetti Late Night” (3sat/ZDF), “Bratwurst & Baklava – The Show” (ProSieben) and “The Zweiflers” (Prime Video) could be considered for “Best Comedy/Late Night”.

ARD drama series is ahead

The fiction category is dominated by the drama series “Die Zweifler” (ARD), which is at the top with six nominations. It is followed by “Deutsches Haus” (Disney+) with four nominations and “Push” (ZDFneo) as well as the comedy series “Legend of Wacken” with three nominations each.

“Blindspot” (ZDF), “I am! Margot Friedländer” (ZDF) and “Silver and the Book of Dreams” (Prime Video) are considered competitors in the “Best TV Film/Multi-Part” category. The “Best Drama Series” could be either “Deutsches Haus” (Disney+), “Liebes Kind” (Netflix), “Push” (ZDFneo), “Die Zweifler” (ARD/hr) or “Maxton Hall – Die Welt zwischen uns” (Prime Video). The “Best Comedy Series” could be “Die Discounter 3” (Prime Video), “Legend of Wacken” (RTL+) or “Neue Geschichten vom Pumuckl” (RTL+).

The categories “Best Actress” and “Best Actor” may go to Mala Emde for “Oh Hell 2”, Sira-Anna Faal for “Pauline”, Sunnyi Melles for “The Doubters”, Katja Riemann for “Reset – How far do you want to go?” or Katharina Stark for “Deutsches Haus” as well as to Aaron Altaras for “The Doubters”, Damian Hardung for “Maxton Hall – The World Between Us”, Marc Hosemann for “The Discounters 3” and “Last Exit Schinkenstraße”, Jan Krauter for “Innocent – ​​The Case of Julia B.” or Sammy Scheuritzel for “Legend of Wacken”.

Most nominations

In the “Best Information” category, the nominations for “Hart aber fair” (ARD/WDR), the “heute Journal” from November 9, 2023 (ZDF) and “Maischberger” (ARD/WDR) are no longer available. For the “Best Sports Broadcast”, the race is between “Basketball World Cup 2023” (MagentaTV), the “Handball European Championship 2024” (ARD/ZDF/NDR) and the “sportstudio live – UEFA EURO 2024” (ZDF). With regard to the European Championship, Esther Sedlaczek (38 years old) could be honored for her work on the “Sportschau UEFA EURO 2024” (ARD/WDR) in the “Best Moderation/Individual Performance Information” award.

With 30 nominations, ZDF leads the race for the most nominations. It is followed by ARD with 21 nominations, RTL Deutschland with 16, and Prime Video with 10 nominations. Disney+ has six, Netflix and ProSiebenSat.1 each have four, and both MagentaTV and WELT TV have two nominations. Warner can be pleased with one nomination.

The awards ceremony will be broadcast on 25 September at 8:15 p.m. on Das Erste. The nominations took into account productions from the fields of fiction, entertainment, information and sports that were broadcast from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.
