What happened?

According to ABC News San Diego, Rachel Manalo came forward in the 18th week of her pregnancy when she noticed an unexplained heart palpitations. The signs persisted for weeks, but then she decided to use her Apple Watch to take an EKG to track her heart's activity.

They clicked on the Apple Watch's ECG function by placing their finger on the crown and their arm on the table. As a result, the watch showed her that her heart was beating at 150 beats per minute for over 40 minutes.

The ECG app advised her to see a doctor, who diagnosed Rachel with ventricular tachycardia, when the lower part of the heart does not function properly, leading to insufficient oxygen in the blood.

Heart problem

As Dr. Nguyen explained, this type of heart problem can lead to a heart attack if left untreated. Rachel took the advice of her Apple Watch and went to the doctor, and her heart problem is now being treated.

According to Nguyen, data collected by health accessories such as the Apple Watch is very useful for doctors. Manalo followed all recommended procedures and experienced a healthy pregnancy.
