Man arrested after sexually abusing teenager in Dundee

A man has been arrested after a teenager was sexually assaulted in Dundee.

The attack, which involved a 17-year-old girl, occurred at around 3.10am on August 11 on Dens Road, near the junction with Laing Street.

According to police, the teenager was approached by three men, one of whom allegedly grabbed her and sexually assaulted her before disappearing from the scene.

The girl returned home and the police were informed about the incident.

Police confirmed that a 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident on Tuesday.

Police added that the man had been released “pending further investigations.”

A Police Scottish spokesman said: “A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old woman in Dundee.

“The incident occurred on Sunday 11 August 2024, at approximately 3.10am, Dens Road, near the junction with Laing Street.

“The 25-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, September 3, and released pending further investigation.

“The investigation is still ongoing.”
