JPD: Woman from Jackson dies after assault

JACKSON, Mississippi (WLBT) – A Jackson woman is dead after a physical attack escalated in the 900 block of Carver Street Wednesday.

Detectives with the Jackson Police Department began investigating the death of Louise Tornes after she was found dead at the scene of an apparent assault.

Investigators have identified 42-year-old Jerry Banks as a suspect in the case. A murder warrant has been issued against Banks. According to the JPD, he is considered dangerous. Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to contact the police.
