Two people reported in accident involving three vehicles

A three-vehicle crash over the weekend resulted in a minor injury to one person and two citations for drivers. The incident occurred just after 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of County Highway C and Elm Street in Sturgeon Bay. A Sturgeon Bay teenager was driving his car when the brakes failed. His vehicle struck the car of a Forestville man, who in turn struck the SUV driven by a 79-year-old Sturgeon Bay woman who had stopped at the stop sign. According to the accident report, the Forestville man was the only one who may have been injured, but he did not require hospitalization. However, he was cited for driving the vehicle without insurance. The Sturgeon Bay teenager was also cited for not having insurance on his car. County Highway C was closed for about forty minutes while two of the cars were towed, and was reopened just before 12:10 p.m.
