A mother and her boyfriend are said to have tied two children (ages nine and seven) to a pole with chains and left them alone in the apartment. By chance, the police in Fairfax County (Virginia/USA) receive a tip-off – and are able to free the children.

Horrific case of child abuse

When the officers arrive at the door of the apartment, they can already hear the sound of clinking chains. When they enter the apartment, the police are confronted with a horrific scene. Next to a sleeping area, the two boys are chained to a post by their ankles. Injuries to their ankles are clearly visible. The children appear to have been held captive like animals.

Wendi R. (47) tells investigators that she and her boyfriend Franklin G. only chained the boys up for a short time to “scare them so they wouldn’t leave the house,” reports US broadcaster Fox News.
