Under the terms of a plea agreement filed with the court, Evans will receive a suspended sentence, pay a $430 civil penalty and be placed on probation for two years. An attempted murder charge will be dropped. A no-contact order with the victim will be extended for five years.

Evans was arrested on Oct. 22 after stabbing Ruel Anderson in the elbow with a black-handled folding knife at a home in the 600 block of Leonard Street in Sac City. Evans was accused of threatening to kill Anderson and herself before the stabbing.

During an interview with police, Evans admitted to stabbing Anderson but said it was not intentional, court documents state. She told investigators Anderson came at her with the knife in his hand and threatened to kill himself.
