Tragic house collapse in Chembur: Toddler killed, woman injured

A tragic incident occurred in Mumbai's Chembur area on Wednesday when a part of a house collapsed, resulting in the death of a young girl and injuries to a woman. According to the civic body, the incident took place in Saraswati Gully near Ekata Mitra Mandal on PL Lokhande Marg in Chembur (West).

The disaster was reported at around 7:29 p.m., authorities said. A steel duct in a one-story building came loose, causing the building to partially collapse. The deceased, Khushi Salve, a 1.5-year-old girl, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A 35-year-old woman, Kavita Salve, is currently being treated at the hospital's outpatient department. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. More details are expected as the situation develops. (ANI)
