A man was arrested for attempted sexual abuse of an underage girl

The Ayanavaram All Women Police has arrested a 42-year-old man from Nammalwarpet under the POCSO Act for attempting to sexually assault a 15-year-old girl.

Police said P. Sasikumar attempted to sexually assault a minor girl living alone in the nearby locality on Wednesday night. However, the girl managed to escape and took shelter in her grandmother's house on the next street. The accused fell on the first floor stairs while trying to escape from the house and suffered a fracture in his leg. Based on a complaint from the girl's mother, the Ayanavaram AWPS went to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital where he was being treated and arrested the accused.
