Bodily harm and threats | Quinte News

On 3.rd On September 10 at 9:35 a.m., police were called to a store on Bell Boulevard because a man had threatened to blow up his ex-girlfriend, who was employed at the store.

The police arrived and confronted the man. The man jumped on his bike and tried to escape the police, but was arrested a short distance away without further incident.

Police spoke with the woman involved and learned that the same man had physically assaulted her earlier in the day. As a result of the police investigation, a 43-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault and threats to murder.

He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court in October. The defendant's name is not being released to protect the victim's identity.
