1 dead after argument that led to shooting in Kansas City home

KANSAS CITY – Police are investigating a shooting in Kansas City that left one man dead and another hospitalized.

Shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to a shooting at a home in the 9600 block of Ditman Way, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.

Emergency responders found two shooting victims outside the home. EMS took both men to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One of the victims was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The other victim was pronounced dead by hospital staff, according to Becchina.

Preliminary information from people who were at the scene when police arrived indicates that the deceased victim arrived at the apartment prior to the shooting and an argument ensued that escalated and resulted in gunfire between the two victims, striking both victims. The victims know each other and investigators are not looking for additional suspects.
