Northern governors condemn Mafa attack and demand swift justice

The Chairman of the Northern States Governors' Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed deep shock over the tragic loss of numerous lives in Mafa village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of ​​Yobe State.

In a statement by his media aide, Isma'ila Uba Misilli, Governor Inuwa strongly condemned the heinous attack, describing it as a “senseless act of violence that has inflicted untold suffering on the affected families and communities.”

He commended the security forces for their continued efforts against the remnants of the degraded criminals, but stressed the urgent need to intensify their efforts to track down and arrest those responsible for these and other atrocities in other regions.

“This brutal act must not go unpunished. I call on the security authorities to redouble their efforts and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice swiftly,” he said.

The Chairman of the NSGF reiterated the determination of the Governors of the Northern Regions to support efforts to restore peace and security in the region and stressed the importance of joint action to prevent a recurrence of such tragedies.

He conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and the Yobe State Government, prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
