Tennessee High School Football Predictions in the Nashville Area for Week 3

Tennessee High School Football Predictions in the Nashville Area for Week 3

As we head into the third week of the Tennessee high school football season, here's a look at the top games in the Nashville area.

Game of the week

Nashville Christian (2-0) at BGA (2-0)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

Bobby Bentley's team scored over 60 points for the second straight game Friday night, and the new BGA coach's offense is firing on all cylinders. BGA isn't in Nashville Christian's division, but this week's game should be full of fireworks. Quarterback Jared Curtis has thrown for 462 yards with six touchdowns. But BGA's Kaedyn Marable has thrown for 607 yards with 10 touchdowns in two games.

George Robinsons forecast: BGA 45, Nashville Christian 42

Tyler Palmateers forecast: Nashville Christian 55, BGA 41

Friday's top games

Riverdale (2:0) at Beech (1:1)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

Beech, known for its defense, will have to find a way to slow down a Riverdale team that got off to a hot start with a running game that produced three touchdowns in a win over Henry County last week. Beech's lackluster 10 points in its Week 2 loss to Collierville is cause for concern.

Robinsons forecast: Riverdale 35, Beech 17

Palmateers forecast: Riverdale 28, Beech 21

Gallatin (1-1, 0-0 in 4-6A) at Mt. Juliet (2-0, 0-0)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

This could be a high-scoring affair, as two of the best quarterbacks in Middle Tennessee are in the mix. Gallatin's Jackson Stroup and Mt. Juliet's Tyler Travers combined to throw six touchdown passes last week. The Bears will be hoping for their fourth 3-0 start in the last five years.

Robinsons forecast: Gallatin 35, Mt. Juliet 28

Palmateers forecast: Mt. Juliet 35, Gallatin 28

Blackman (1-1) at Ravenwood (2-0)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

Ravenwood surprised most with its road win over Alcoa in Week 1, and that game caught the attention of Class 6A teams. Although Blackman has improved from last year's 4-6 season, Ravenwood should enter this matchup as the clear favorite.

Robinsons forecast: Ravenwood 35, Blackman 20

Palmateers forecast: Ravenwood 38, Blackman 14

Summit (1-1) at Green Hill (2-0)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

Green Hill faces its toughest test of the season against a team that pushed the Hawks to the limit in last year's 41-35 win. Green Hill's ability to score points will put pressure on Summit to follow suit, as the Spartans were only able to score seven points in last week's loss to Centennial.

Robinsons forecast: Green Hill 24, Summit 21

Palmateers forecast: Green Hill 35, Summit 14

Page (2-0) at Franklin (1-1)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

Page isn't giving Franklin any hope of getting back on track after last week's loss to FRA. The Patriots already appear to be on their way to their fourth consecutive Class 5A championship game, and their defense has yet to give up a single point this season.

Robinsons forecast: Page 27, Franklin 10

Palmateers forecast: Page 28, Franklin 3

FRA (0-2, 0-0 in DII-AA, Middle) at Webb School – Bell Buckle (2-0, 0-0)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

Webb School – Bell Buckle may be one of the most surprising 2-0 teams in the state, and it accomplished that feat with an impressive offensive performance. The Feet scored 56 points in back-to-back games. But Friday's FRA game will show just how good Webb is.

Robinsons forecast: FRA 30, Webb School 27

Palmateers forecast: FRA 28, Webb School 21

Macon County (2-0, 0-0 in 4-4A) at Upperman (2-0, 0-0)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

This is a battle between two 4A-ranked teams, and Upperman appears to have the upper hand. Not many have figured out how to slow down Bees quarterback Bronzden Chaffin, who ran and threw for over 100 yards and scored five total touchdowns last week.

Robinsons forecast: Upperman 28, Macon County 21

Palmateers forecast: Upperman 24, Macon County 23

Osceola, Arkansas (0-0) at Ensworth (2-0)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

Ensworth welcomes Arkansas' Osceola High, a 3A program across the Tennessee border 50 miles north of Memphis. Osceola made the second round of its playoffs last year, led by returning running back Jeremiah Jacobs, who rushed for 763 yards and four touchdowns in 2023.

Robinsons forecast: Ensworth 27, Osceola 17

Palmateers forecast: Ensworth 35, Osceola, 14

Friendship Christian (1-1) at Columbia Academy (1-1)

Time: 7pm When: Friday

Friendship Christian failed to score a point against DCA last week. It was the first time since 2021 that the Commanders failed to score a point in a game, also against DCA. As if Friendship didn't have enough to worry about, stopping the Bulldogs' Montae Baldwin will be a real challenge. He has rushed for 442 yards in two games.

Robinsons forecast: Columbia Academy 24, Friendship Christian 20

Palmateers forecast: Columbia Academy 21, Friendship Christian 13

Last week: Robinson (6-4), Palmateer (9-1). In total: Robinson (11-9, .550); Palmateer (14-6, .700).
