Kitzingen hairdresser Abdurrahman Özata with successful makeover

Kitzingen hairdresser Abdurrahman Özata with successful makeover

Things are going really well for Abdurrahman Özata from Kitzingen. This year, the 26-year-old hairdresser took part in the TV show “Cut it – the before-hair-after-hair show”, in which hairdressers compete against each other in a styling competition. He is also opening his own hairdressing salon in Kitzingen in October. He tells us what he is planning to do in his shop and is allowed to reveal a few details about the TV show before it is broadcast.

Abdurrahman Özata always knew that he would become a hairdresser. After completing his training, he worked in various hairdressing salons in Kitzingen. His passion for the profession drove him from the beginning, says Özata. At some point, however, he missed the opportunities to develop further. He then moved to Frankfurt and Stuttgart to gain experience in renowned salons. Influencers also get their hair done there.

During this time, Özata decided to set up something of his own. He completed his master's degree so that he could then become self-employed. Now the time has come. The 26-year-old is back in Kitzingen and is setting up his own shop: “Hair Aesthetic – Your hair is your soul” on Mainbernheimer Strasse in Etwashausen.

This is what Özatas hair salon in Kitzingen should be special

The young hairdresser criticizes the fact that some salons work far too hectically. Customers are treated “like numbers” in order to squeeze in as many appointments as possible in one day. He wants to do things differently in his shop. “My customers are worth their weight in gold. We hairdressers only exist as long as they are satisfied with our service,” says Özata. “For satisfied customers, the feel-good factor, professional competence and good advice are the be-all and end-all.”

In his own shop, Özata will do more than just cut hair. “People should have a holiday feeling as soon as they walk through the door: good music, the decor and atmosphere,” he explains. He wants to devote a lot of time to individual consultations. “Some people just have thick hair or natural curls, so the appointment simply takes longer. That's the way it is, and you have to plan for that as a hairdresser.”

A special feature of his shop will be a private hairdressing area. The VIP room is intended to be a place for special occasions such as styling brides on their wedding day. The area will also offer a place to retreat, for example for women who wear headscarves to get their hair cut.

This is how the show “Cut it – the before-hair after-hair show” works

In the TV show “Cut it – the before-hair-after-hair show”, four hairdressers have a few hours to give a person a makeover. At the end, they judge which type of change is the biggest and most successful. The most important thing about a makeover is that the new look should remain true to your type, says Özata. “Everyone is different. Face shapes, hair structures and proportions differ. And also how often you want to come in for a trim or color. As a hairdresser, you have to take that into account and then recommend the right hairstyle.”

For his TV client, he opted for a layered cut and balayage coloring, a hair color that was as natural as possible, as if it had been lightened by the sun. It was a tight schedule lasting two to three hours. “I was blow-drying hair until the last second,” says the 26-year-old. Another difficulty: the products provided are not normally used by hairdressers. “The make-up products were from a discount store,” he reveals. In the end, Abdurrahman Özata is happy with his result: “I think mine was the biggest change in style in the episode.”

Broadcast date: How the jury assessed the makeover can be seen in the episode of “Cut it – the before-hair after-hair show”, which will be broadcast on Friday, September 6th at 8:15 p.m. on sixx. The show is also available in the joyn media library.
