Fisherman suspected of stabbing windsurfer in Berkeley who lost his fishing rod

BERKELEY — A fisherman was arrested Sunday for allegedly stabbing a windsurfer who became tangled in his fishing line, causing him to lose his rod, authorities said.

The windsurfer, a man in his 50s, was taken to a hospital for treatment. It was unclear whether he was still in hospital on Tuesday.

The stabbing occurred around 3:10 p.m. Sunday at the Berkeley Marina near the former location of HS Lordships restaurant in the 100 block of Seawall Drive.
